Welcome to Technological Integration in Education!
This blog serves as a guide to educators and students to provide ways to integrate technology into the classroom, as well as pros and cons of this method of teaching. Although using technology can present challenges, effective tech integration changes classroom dynamics, encouraging student-centered project-based learning ("How to Integrate Technology" 1).

Drawbacks of Technology in Education |
Technology can encourage collaboration between students and can adapt to a variety of different learning styles, since each child in your classroom is different, and it can be challenging to adjust your learning plan to fit every student (Top 5 Benefits of Technology in the Classroom" 1). Technology gives students the freedom to explore and prepare them for a digital future as technology continues to expand and reach every corner of the world. It is also advantageous to instructors so they can deliver material in a way that will accommodate the learning needs of each of their students.

Although there are many benefits to technology, educators face the challenges of less social interaction between students, online safety, and the pace of technological change and costs. Students feel less inclined to talk to other classmates if they have a screen in front of them, and teachers face the task of ensuring each student is collaborating with the others. Additionally, technology is costly for schools, especially when it is continuously changing to adapt to modern times. Lastly, with technology in the classroom comes the challenge of online safety. Teachers must ensure that students are using technology for the proper reasons and give them the training required to keep them safe online.
An Example of Useful Technology for Teachers & StudentsAn example of a piece of technology that can provide many advantages to both educators and students is the Smart Board. The Smart Board has the ability to have separate workspaces so several children can utilize the smart board at once. Teachers can have multiple students work on the same problem while using the board and then come back together as a class to talk about each child's individual work. Additionally, Smart Boards allow teachers to accommodate different learning styles of their students. They can utilize graphs, charts, or other visual aids for visual learners, play videos or recordings for audio learners and allow students to come up and draw for those who are tactile learners. Lastly, Smart Boards allow for technology integration by having the ability to connect laptops, cameras, microscopes, etc. to the screen. These other pieces of technology will aid the teacher in demonstrating lessons for the whole class to see.

I chose to include the BrainPOP Youtube channel link and Twitter page into my blog because I feel it is a great resource for teachers to utilize to give their students pre-lessons or mini lessons of certain content. BrainPOP breaks down topics, events, current news, and provides strategies in kid-friendly terms that students will easily comprehend.
